Running EBC SR-11 brake pads as a dual purpose pad?

Hi all,

I made a thread regarding Paragon P3's but luckily they haven't shipped yet because I might cancel after looking into the EBC SR-11. They seem to have unparalleled longevity and barely require a bed-in process. However I do have some questions:

Is there are anyone using these as a dual purpose pad?
How much noise do they make on the street?
Does swapping from OEM pads to these require scrubbing or resurfacing my OEM rotors?
Do they come with shims?
And what's a good complimenting rear rotor for these? Do OEM rears suffice?

I have yet to do my first HPDE but I will be later this year, and half of my driving are canyon runs so I still want a good pad for the street.

Thanks!

I use them dual purpose I'll try to answer:

Noise: If you track them, on the street they are silent. This must be from "bedding" even though typical bedding is not required. Otherwise, slight noise at low speed

SR11 will remove any deposits left from other pads.

Do not come with shims. I suggest the titanium shims from paragon.

Rear pads I was running EBC blue, but those are backordered. I tried to order RP-1, also backordered. Currently on Dixcel Z type, which is a "dual purpose" pad. It's fine, the price was right.

Make sure to do fluid also. Castrol SRF

Thanks for the reply. So they come already bed-in? No stop and go procedures when I put them in?

Also Castro SRF is already sitting in the garage waiting to be put in!

Put them on and go. Pads can't come bed-in already, the process is simply transferring a layer of brake pad material to the rotors. They may have a little squeal at first, but that goes away after track use. If you want to get rid of the noise, you can do 4 to 6 90mph-30mph stops in quick succession. Kind of hard on public roads... I just did a 2 day HPDE, and they are silent again and will be for probably another few months.

Appreciate the input!

Question sir, how is the dusting and rotor wear on the street? I've got a set of RPX which is less agressive than the SR11s, im just curious

Dust not a big deal less than the EBC blue I had in the rear. Rotor wear on the street was non-existent. On track hard to tell. No step in the rotor at this point after almost 10k miles.

Thank you sir. I'm probably just going to leave the RPX pads on all summer/fall
