The EVO II has a bit of a replica feel, while the Tarmac II stays true to the original aesthetic of the larger wheels (back when 16" or the Promada line were the only options that offered such a lip). FFWD 20 years, the real looks like the fake. In my case, due to rim size, there is no option, it shares the EVO II replica wheel lip. A catch 22, even if I win, I lose. 😅
So I shouldn't bring up my old rota slips? 🤣

I don't get hung up on sw388 and regamaster aren't made in Russia anymore. They're made in Japan still forged the lightest 19x9.5 I could find and the best looking wheels for the FL5 imo. So when everyone else has Volks enkei or apex I've got something different you don't see every day.

I would say the opposite is true, the Tarmac looks like a replica since 17” RegaMaster EVO and 18” RegaMasters never came with a flat lip. Only the 16” RegaMaster EVOs had a flat lip.

EVO II stay true to the original wheel for 18” and is my preference. I have 19” sw388 so I may be biased.

I’ve never been a crowd surfer either. I like what I like, doesn’t matter who does, nor what brand it may/may not be. A good quality alloy from a bottom brand is far better than a poor quality alloy from a top brand. I have no clue why Porsches cracking strut towers came to mind but it did 🤣

Promadas and 16’s always had the tarmac lip. 15, 17, 18 EVOS would come with the “replica lip.”

Yes, 16” RegaMaster EVOs came with the flat lip but that was it. I would hardly call 17” or 18” EVO II the replica lip since they always came that way.

RegaMaster (what you are calling Promadas) never came with a flat lip and never in 16 inch. I have imported and sold 200+ sets of RegaMasters and have every size burned into my head.

I made these posts over 10 years ago but all the sizing of the original production run still remains true. You can see that RegaMasters never came in 16”.

Any suggestions on the best place to purchase the Regamasters? From what I've seen it looks like ICB Motorsport may be the best option.

Call and talk to Matt at ICB. Find out when the shipments are expected. I got lucky and only had to wait 3 months for mine.

I understand what you’re saying spids… I do. But there’s a difference. We can agree to disagree that’s ok.
