Red mirror caps

quick question on red mirror caps offered by Honda for the FL5.

Is there any significance adding red mirror caps? Is it a JDM trait? Does it mean anything? Is it a homage to any car previously?

Just curious why red and not actual body colour. Also the red on offer seems to be a different shade to the red Honda logo.

I bought a set for my CW. I'm still on the fence as they are bold. I even went as far as carefully and successfully removing the passenger side black mirror cap to lay the red one on to compare. It's a beautiful bright red. Not sure if its the same as Rallye Red but I assume so.

I think the red mirror caps are kinda meh. They’re not awful, but they just remind me too much of Mini Coopers. If you’re going to swap out the black ones, I think body color is going to look the cleanest. You could also go with carbon for a more racing/technical look. Too bad there’s not an OEM option that exactly matches the OEM CF wing. That’d be the best of both worlds.

Can be pulled off a lot easier with White, Black or Red CTRs. Gray or Blue it would seem they came from the pick a part yard cars.

Regarding the Voltex wing. Is that the new type 2 specific for the FL5?

I think these just literally came out.
Not sure if the FK8 version is identical.

I would not put the red mirror covers on my personal car but I do like them on a couple colors. Champ white looks good, specially if you have some other mods like the wing, etc. Black could look nice and I actually think they work well on the gray.

It’s type 2. I doubt it’s the same as the FK8. My guess is that the style is the same but mounting points are different. The risers for it are made to fit the FL5 hatch lid. So the mounting points to the bottom of the wing would be specific.

Does anyone know if the Honda red caps part number 76201-T20-A31ZA are the same as the Honda access red wing caps (08R06-T60-010) ?
