Don't even know when I'm gonna put it in though. Should I wait for my ktuner V2? Or is that still "in a few weeks" ?

V2 units start shipping on Monday according to Ktuner. Don't have too much fun with that thing. I'm sure mine is still a ways a way, I'm way down the list.

My understanding is that it will not negatively affect the performance even with a CEL but you may want confirmation from someone else.

i only have hondata (at the moment no option to disable CEL codes like the previous generations), and the catted version will be easier for me to try and eliminate the CEL vs the no catted pipe

If you install the front pipe only, it shouldn't throw any codes since there's no o2 sensor...right?
