Like many on this forum, I debated who to buy a tune from. Fortunately, we have several good options. In the end, my choice came down to customer service.
I have experience with the Cobb and live a couple of hours from the Austin headquarters. At the time of my research, they did not list the 2025-year model as supported. I contacted Cobb and an affiliated tuner. The tuner told me I would have to wait till they added official support, which I fully understand. I contacted Cobb and asked if there was a timeline for the update and if they would be interested in me coming in to see if it could be unlocked. The answer to both was no.
Fortunately, Hondata started unlocking 2025 immediately. So, I mailed off my ECU and ordered a Flash Pro. My first choice was TSP, and I still think they are a great option. I reached out with a handful of questions. I was looking for info about the OTS tune. I was sent the same information that is on the website, nothing more. I also asked if it would be possible to request a change to the exhaust valve table. I was told I would need a custom tune for this. Although I plan on getting a custom tune, I am waiting until I get a downpipe and a few more support mods.
When I contacted Phearable, I had fewer questions because they gave a decent breakdown of the changes made for the OTS on the website. I was told a slight adjustment was fine and to simply add it to the notes. When I received the tune, it had a further breakdown of information related to the tune. I truly appreciate all the info when modifying any vehicle.
Now I have tried the 93 base map and the phearable tune. Both are a noticeable upgrade over stock. The phearable tune only feel marginaly faster but the way it achieves power is different. Hondata would regulary spike over 24psi vs phearable hovering around 20psi. The power delivery is also much smoother.
The tune mixed with 30 pounds of sound-deadening and the Type S ADS has left me satisfied with my purchase.
