A lot of this has been covered here and I said my peace on it.
I will laugh at the comment that the people saying there is minimal change don't drive hard enough. Nearly all the people saying that are the regular track drivers
One other effect to consider that I did not mention in that thread was the overall unsprung weight savings of a wheel swap and its effects.
When you reduce the weight of rotational mass in a system you are basically decreasing the damping effects within it. So even keeping the same size wheel and tire setup, if you get a forged set thats 3-4lbs less per corner, you may notice different effects to feel as its more susceptible to sending vibrations back to the steering wheel.
Overall people seem to be way overly sensitive and think changes in feel equate to changes in performance.
If you want to hammer the gas in 2nd gear without keeping your hands on the wheel or do any driving, keep the stock setup. People are acting like a wheel swap makes the car suddenly drive like a Neon SRT 4 or Mazdaspeed 3.
I will agree with others in this thread, TIRES provide the biggest effect to feel than a wheel swap if you are talking about offsets in the +45-+60 range.
