I stupidly crushed the housing and glass of my driver-side mirror against a garage pillar. I'd like to try replacing it myself to save money. But I'm a total beginner and I don't know how to find the parts I need.
- I found complete mirror assemblies, but my mirror arm and the innards are intact. I think its mirror positioning functions are fine. It's still possible to pop a mirror back onto the arm.
- I also found some individual parts, but they come ready for the customer to paint, and I don't have a set-up for painting. Mine is Lunar Silver Metallic.

I have the base model civic, so I don't think it has blind spot detection or heat or anything built into the mirror.

I've highlighted the parts I think I need in the attached. But, the two bits in the second photo also broke off. I don't know which part they come with or where they go.

So, questions...
1. Where can I get these parts? I'm in the USA (western Massachusetts). I don't think I care if they're OEM parts (should I?), so I'm looking for whatever's economical but legit. Ideally, I'd like if they accept returns in case I find there's more damage than I can fix and I have to resort to a body shop.
2. Can I get part 4 in Lunar Silver Metallic? If not, what would you recommend I do?
3. Can I get these parts without getting the whole assembly? If not, would you recommend I replace the whole assembly? I'm a little intimidated, but if I know I shouldn't be, I'm willing to dive in. I fix stuff around the house a little, based on youtube mostly, so I'm a beginner but not averse to trying and learning, especially if there's no big risk.
4. About the two parts in the second photo -- can I just hope they're redundant and not worry about them? Or can you tell me how to replace them without replacing more than I have to?
5. When I get the parts, can I get guidance from the same place that sells the parts? Or is there guidance on youtube or somewhere for replacing the housing? (Again, I found guidance for replacing the entire assembly.)
6. Are there other forums or places where I should be asking these questions?

Thank you!!

I recommend looking up the parts and their part numbers on Honda DreamShop, makes finding the exact parts you want easier. You can then just Google the part numbers and buy it from online parts dealers, they are usually cheaper or go to your local dealer.

Ok, using their version of the diagram, I can see the part numbers I need, thanks! But when I google those part numbers, I get one of two things:
1. OEM sites. I'm thinking these may be my only option for the one part (8, below) that should be Lunar Silver, but that OEM is pricier than I need for all the other parts, unless someone here advises otherwise.
2. Sites selling parts that are related but not the same, e.g., a whole replacement assembly that includes the parts I don't need (and that isn't Lunar Silver).

So I tried looking the part numbers up on a couple of general, big parts sites (NAPA and one other). They didn't have the corresponding parts, just a whole replacement assembly. I don't know what other sites to try vs. which aren't legit, which might have helpful humans and/or good instructions, etc.

Here are the parts I need (ignoring those two little attachment parts from my second photo for now), labeled with the numbers from the attached diagram:
8: 76251-T20-A01ZC (This is the sole Lunar Metallic part)
10: 76253-720-A01 or -A02 -- I can't tell what the difference is between these two listings.
11: 76255-T20-A01
9: 76252-T20-A01
Or instead of 10, 11, and 9, there's a part number for a set:
12: 76258-T20-A02 or -A03 -- I can't tell what the difference is between these two very differently priced listings. 12 on the diagram also includes the arm, etc., that I don't need, but maybe the cheaper of these two doesn't?? If a set is comparably priced to the individual parts, maybe I could disassemble it and use just the parts I need, but I don't know if it would come in pieces, and if not, how to take it apart without damaging it.

I'm making a little progress, and I have a new part of my question: If I do need to go with an OEM place, do any of them have generous return policies? I found everything I needed at Honda Factory Parts, but if I try to install it and fail, they won't take an opened return.
