Since these are super simple, here's the Honda service docs for the oil change process and refill amounts for the 1.5L and 2.0L

First, take off the splash shield.
You'll need a #3 Phillips (Yes a #3) and a flathead.

Then use a 17mm wrench or socket for the drain plug.
Please use a new crush washer with each oil change.
Honda requires drain bolt to be torqued to 30 foot pounds.

Awesome thanks for this. What is the specified change interval, 5,000 miles/ 6 months?

what about the CVT or manual transmission oil?

Maintenance Minder will tell you when it’s time to change the oil depending on how it’s driven. For mostly freeway driving on my 10th gen, it was roughly 10k for engine oil and 50k for CVT

What is the best oil for the Type R 2.0L motor?

I see 0w20 is the preferred viscosity with an API standard of SM or higher

I use Mobil 1 in some of my cars, wondering what others are using?

I found this Honda Full Synthetic but I would like to put the best oil I can in my FL5 and I don't know if this is it or not >>>

I use many different synthetic oil brand bought at discount sales in my store, never Honda oil, it is too expensive, it is a wast of money imo.

Most important is to change oil more often. Around 20% maintenance minder

I just bought a 2025 Civic Si, and the guy who handled my paperwork assured me to only do things according to the car's computers, and when I change the oil at like 40-50%, then I'm not letting the oil do its thing as it's supposed to, and I should be doing it once it shows up.

I don't know if that's true or not, but since I just got it I believe I'm supposed to keep the initial oil in this car as long as I can (till that maintenance minder shows up) to break in the vehicle as this oil has extra what... molybdenum, or something? But beyond that, is it better that I change the oil sooner (though costlier), or is there actually a benefit to keeping oil in there longer?

On a new Honda, I wait around 15% or 10% (maintenace minder) before changing the oil.
I then change it at around 20%.

There is no disadvantage to changing the oil AND the filter more often, except in terms of money.

As well as lubricating, oil cleans the engine. Carbon and other particles (and perhaps metal) should be captured by the oil filter, but as it's not perfect, the filter lets some through.

I don't like my engine being lubricated by dirty oil.

And as I do it myself, the cost is reduced.
