Bought the OEM Carbon wing from a fellow owner. It has what appears to be a scuff on the edge that scraped the clear coat or a defect in the clear. On the FK8 Oem carbon wing, clear coat peel was an issue so I'm looking to touch this up before ceramic coating.

The car is garaged, but I want to avoid this corner blemish from spreading. I suppose I could take it to a body shop to have this small spot repaired, whatever is best for longevity. Any insight is appreciated!

You can touch it up but depending on where that corner is, it'll be noticeable. If that was my wing, I would sand down the whole wing and reclear it. 2k clear coat spray paint cans are available, works and lasts pretty well.

Mine also has a clear blemish on one of the tips, not cracking or pealing its just really thin there.
Really the clear on these wings is terrible for a $2000 product, mine has some inside dimples on the clear you can see when direct sunlight hits. I got it for a great deal here on the forum so can't complain much but if it was a new purchase I would have sent it back. Maybe get it re cleared some day.

Yours seems more noticeable than mine on that corner, I left mine alone, I guess you could put a tiny bit of clear to protect it, its not a terrible idea. Its on the tip that points down right? No one will ever notice it.

Yes, the pocking. Same happened to mine. Had it replaced under warranty. Car is garaged and the wing was ceramic coated and only had around 550 miles on it.

Kind of crazy on a 2000 wing. I would replace it under warranty too had I been the first owner, actually I would have never never accepted it and sent it back immediately. I bought it from someone and when I met him was night time so I could not see it or I probably woulda passed but I also got it at like 45% discount so really can't complain and didn't.

I bet the new wings from Taiwan will have better quality, Taiwan makes great carbon fiber and if they go to a place with good QC (likely) I bet will be better than the italian stuff.

What's interesting is when I took it in for warranty replacement, they asked not one question. No did you buy the car from us? Did you buy the car with the wing already installed? If purchased after, where's the receipt? Is the car parked in direct sunlight for extended periods of time? Nothing. Service advisor looked at, ran his hands over it, looked at it from the angles I advised him to see it from, and that was it. Decided to replace it under warranty within 20 seconds. It could've been a replica and I'm not sure they would've noticed. Take it in and see what happens.

I have to go there to do the recall and I will mention it to them for sure, that is not a bad idea. I mean its fair, its their product and the clear coat has a defect

Thanks everyone for the feedback on this. Mine is also on the lower tip that faces toward the front of the car. My only concern is the longevity of the clear and that defect spreading. I’ve had my car for about a month and the wing isn’t on the invoice. That’s awesome that they did the replacement for Clark. I’ll likely just have the clear fixed on it.

I had PPF installed on my FK8 carbon piece, but I imagine it wouldn't really be possible on this more complex shape?

A 2K clear coat spray can is the answer.

Note that 2K clear coat is toxic, so good ventilation, a respirator mask, and covering exposed skin are musts. The 2K I've used is equivalent to Imron.

I used 2K as a clear coat on a motorcycle restoration. Also a clear coat over my touched up S2000 front spoiler. Both turned out awesome, with no polishing or buffing required.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll talk to the shop tomorrow and will update on their response.
