Hey everyone!

I recently sold the Acessport for my old GTI so I got three parts with the money! First one delivered was this shift knob from Billetworkz. I love how much this thing weighs (they claim 1.1 lbs and I believe them) as well as the Alcantara. In the hot Cali sun this thing stays cool so I no longer have burn marks on my palm 😂

I will say this thing was a bit of a pain in the ass to install mainly because of the collar lock. Otherwise took about 20 mins total (prolly be 5 mins with the right tool to release that lock)

Sidenote- does anyone know the part number for the silver trim on the center console? I wouldn’t mind wrapping it or painting a spare one… I can only find $200.00+ carbon fiber ones on the internet

enjoy the pics!

@Brado the aluminum trim is not inexpensive. The part number is 83431-T60-A21ZA and will go for around $400 even from the discount OEM parts outlets.

I'm not sure they're "fake". Depends on which ones you're referring to. The CFRP OEM center console is not fake. Doubtful the MUGEN one is either. FYI - the carbon pieces you see are overlays and not a replacement unit. In other words, they lay on top of the stock aluminum trim attached with double-sided adhesive.

I highly recommend wrapping the aluminum console trim--it's a relatively easy wrap task with a heat gun and some patience.

I do actually sell the wrap! It’s $100/sheet and each sheet is 2’x2’.

I’d be happy to wrap your cover if you doubt your own abilities, but it’s not overly difficult!

You worried about the wrap ruining the finish? Or you plan on removing it and replacing it after certain time

I can't imagine the wrap doing anything to the finish, but if it did, there's a way to fix everything, right?

Another option would be to get an Si console trim piece (pretty sure it’s a straight swap, but I haven’t checked to be sure) and wrapping it. This way you know nothing bad will happen to that expensive aluminum piece. I’m admittedly OCD with stuff like this. The Si trim piece is just plastic, so NBD if it gets messed up.

Looking good but that’s the #1 reason I didn’t buy the black and red oem one I tried to lose the collar but OMG what a pain! For me stay stock and burn or freeze my hand on the process hope the tint I put helps a little.

Billetworkz Fusion looks amazing, does anyone have the dimensions for one (height, diameter), curious how it is size wise compared to other knobs like the Raceseng Stratose.
