Mach V Motorsports in Sterling VA, they are primarily a Subaru shop but they worked on my Focus, and the guy who recommended them to me takes his tracked BMWs there. Give them a call and tell them what you want done, they should be able to give you an estimate over the phone.
Agile Auto in Bel Air. FANTASTIC shop. Will do everything from maintenance to installs to full race prep and custom fabrication. All makes and models; the staff themselves have a variety of cars from S13s to Subarus to Mercs to tube chassis race cars. Very consultative, and they stand by their work.
Hey all. I recently picked up an FL5. I owned a DE5 for a short amount of time back when they were first released and have experience working on these chassis. If anyone is looking for a shop, I just formed my LLC.
It's serendipitous that @NSXavier replied to this at a time where I was struggling to find a competent shop to install my downpipe.
When I hit him up to vet his credibility and experience, he was not trying to sell me on anything. Instead, he answered my questions and provided me a fair quote.
The thing that stood out to me was that he recommended that I change the turbo gasket and bolts as they are one-time use parts. He even explained why. It's insane that out of all the shops that supposedly install these things often that no one talks about this. If you think about it, it makes sense. These parts are exposed to high temperatures that would make them prone to failure if reused.
Once I agreed to the quote, we set a weekend drop off and he had it ready for pick up within a few hours. Providing updates on my car every so often (with pictures!).
Another thing that stood out to me with Xavier was that he even asked permission to road test the vehicle. As an enthusiast who babies their car, the transparency was appreciated.
A 10/10 experience for work done by an enthusiast for enthusiasts.
