Ayo, first time poster here, wasn't sure if this was the right place to post, also first time leasing.

I've got a Sport arriving on Monday, a number of circumstances required me to get a vehicle relatively soon and all of the Touring trims at local dealers within a reasonable radius are booked till summer and beyond. Also didn't really need the extra features aside from leather.

With the sport, I was looking at Katzkin for the seats. Called the dealer to see if it could be rolled into the lease, but they said they couldn't install or add non-Honda accessories. Is it possible to go around the dealer and talk with Honda Financial on this? I know Katzkin has worked on official promotional/special one offs for Honda before, and they heavily promote the ability to work them in on leases. I am able to just get them installed myself, but it is way to early to see if I'd do a buyout down the road or turn in for another vehicle once electrics develop, and would prefer to defer/avoid some of the cost if I could.

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

In simplest terms, the company “line“ is that “they will not warranty aftermarket items that do not come installed from the factory, and/or accessories installed by an authorized Honda Service Center.”

However…..there’s a caveat….
Some stores, like ours, will accommodate aftermarket items, if installed by the dealer prior to sale. For example, we had a customer wanted a sport accord but wanted leather seats installed prior to delivery. (Mind you this was 2020 prior to the special edition trim).

So we arranged with an aftermarket leather upholstery installer, and now that “non-oem“ leather is covered ??

Hell, some dealerships out there have installed certain aftermarket tunes for the customer and cover it under warranty because they worked out a deal with the tuners.

It’s basically a crapshoot! Some stores won’t, and some will.??‍♂

Coverking They go over your existing seats. I had them in my 2019 Si black leather. They were great did not know they were covers. The way you put them on and the way they are made they are like a second skin with a little more padding. Only $400 Not $3000
