On a whim, I swapped in the ITS ASC sound module into my FL5 and as far as I can tell it doesn’t seem to make any sound at all. I’m going to double check the connection is fully plugged in but I was very surprised the ITS module didn’t seem to do anything given how compatible these cars are. Curious if someone else has done this mod and can confirm different sounds in different modes.

ITS owner here. I want to remove my sound module to see if it makes a difference. I can’t hear it at all. I’m unsure if it is subtle, doesn’t work, or is just well done (matches exhaust note well). I’ve never been in an FL5, but its my understanding that the sound module is obvious in those cars.

I'll pile on. I can't seem to tell there's any synthetic noise at all either in my ITS, in fact I'm sort of surprised to hear there's a module in it at all. It must be exceptionally quiet. Might as well do a delete? Does it throw codes if it's just... unplugged?

Where is the damn thing anyway? Now I'm curious.

It shouldnt throw any codes. I have mine unplugged in my R since I purchased the car and no issues. Did same thing on the fk8.

My DE5 definitely didn't sound as synthetic as the FL5, as the FL5 is very distracting and very buzzy.

My guess is that they toned down the DE5 as it's a little more upscale to lower the impression of interior noise, and also to allow one to hear the actual exhaust more since it has a different tune and res delete compared to the FL5.

I have never noticed any artificial sounds in the Type S. I believe there might be some in the Aspec but I can't remember. Does the unit provide any noise cancelling? I thought it was mentioned somewhere.
