I'm a big fan of my wifes rav4 prime. It's actually fun to drive around the back roads here. And it's quick off the line for something that looks kind of goofy and like every other compact suv. When I drive the type R I'm always looking out for debri or pot holes in the prime I don't need to worry about any of that. These New England back roads are a mess.
The hybrid civic should be pretty quick too and if it gets close to 50mpg it'll be a winner.

Why a used one, I'm not up on the 1.5T. Are there issues with certain years?

I think I’d still take a 1.5T Civic hatch over a hybrid, but it would have to be a used one now.
