You will need the following first,
A samsung phone
USB A to USB A cable
USB A to Type C adapter.

First, make sure you have the developer mode enabled. Change the USB mode on the dash to adb mode on the USB.

Second, Go to developer mode and change the USB to media mode, then connect your phone and it will ask you to open the Smart Switch app, open it and click ok on the radio, that will open the web app for you.

Note, download the Smart Switch app if you don't have it.
Also, enable wifi on the radio and connect to a Hotspot.

Interesting. I tried adb via PC but never received a pop-up allowing the connection on the Head unit. I wonder how the Samsung phone is working around this security measure.

Does it need to be a Samsung or will any android that can install Smart switch work? I am able to DL the smart switch app to my Pixel. I can give it a try after work.

I do see it available in the play store for my pixel. I guess we will need to test with the USBC to A adapter.

I have not try that, I did try again USB A to USB C and it did not work.
