I've been noticing the a lot of rattle sounds ever since I owned the car. After I fixed the B-pillar, it was good for a while - until I recently replaced the rear motor mount. After intalling the PRL rear motor mount, I've been hearing a lot of rattle coming from the passenger side, especially when driving at higher speed on concrete road. The rattle is noticeable even on asphalt road and it is getting pretty annoying. After some pin-pointing, it seem to be coming from the rear mirror.
Following the HATTRX's video - I removed the trim pieces. As you can hear from the first video, when shaking it, the two clips produce the rattle sound.
The fix was to apply some lubricants to the clips. I used some keyboard lubs with a brush, but I think any thick lub would work. While at it, I added some sound deadening materials, but I don't think that's necessary.
After the lub, shaking it no longer rattles.
It is a relatively easy fix. Test drove and no longer hear anything.
