Factory Air Dam PPF or is it just shipping material to be removed? Would someone mind looking at your car?

I found a stip of thick plastic film on my air dam. It looked terrible with all sorts of debris behind it / partially peeling etc. I assume this is just a shipping material that wasn't removed during PDI. However it was really thick, so I am not sure. I just want to make sure that is the case, and not that some factory PPF has failed. The car is brand new (200 miles), and hasn't been bottomed out or anything, so the film wasn't damaged. Just poorly installed. Do your cars have a strip along the air dam on the front, dead middle. Thanks in advance.

Mine has the tape on it too. It's currently hanging after scraping the ground a million times.

I had never noticed it until 2 days ago when I was doing a few things under the car, I just left it there as it was not peeling too bad.

I went by the dealership to see about ordering some new tape, or to just ppf it. There is not a part number for the tape. I did get the part number for a new front air dam, and they are $26 whole dollars to replace. Not even worth putting PPF on it. My guess is, since it looked so terrible after 200 miles, it was supposed to be pulled off during PDI and wasn't.

Thats very similar to what mine looked like. Mine was peeling a bit more at the bottom on the right, kinda like I think yours is on the left. And with slightly more agressive vertical failure areas / debris behind them. I peeled it off. Didn't want it deteriorating and wind up flapping around up under the car which seemed inevitable. The more I look at it, this does look like a delivery film and not a PPF. The fact that it is not adhered to the surface flush is the giveaway. Since yours is similar. This has moisture behind it. It is just going to keep getting worse as you drive.

Might be a great case to actually keep it on them. If that sport gets hit with crap all the time, why not let the little plastic ride a little longer? Might do that and check it daily

I suppose. The oem replacement air dam is available for $26 online. It’s held on by a few screws. Seems like it would be very easy to replace if damaged. I am not worried about it.

I’ll check the pn when I get home. The one one the type r and the base civic are slightly different. I think that pn may be for the base civic based only on the parts diagram picture. The center hit has a small recessed area on the non type r ones.
