Why pigeonhole yourself? ...... Funny how we have these random new tuners and new users on here pushing Cobb hard. Sounds like a corporate marketing campaign.

From a tuning perspective, I don't think giving some random tuner a shot with your expensive Civic because they have tuned thousands of Fords is a very prudent decision. The most dangerous mod you can do is a bad tune.
They are just pushing Cobb, not introducing themselves to the community. Problem is that they are being disingenuous about the differences. Are they selling tuning services or are they trying to push a platform.
I gave an extremely objective perspective of the different devices and even encouraged Hondata and KTuner for certain people. You gave a completely one sided, opinionated perspective that lacked anything of substance. I can talk more about it, but I didn't think it was necessary.

Every company is on here trying to sell something. Should we all be ashamed of ourselves for it?

"Not introducing themselves to the community."
"...they are being disingenuous...."
"...some random tuner..."

I would say you're just not familiar with us. I'll put some info here so that you and others can learn a little more about us if they want. You're right on CivicXI though. We haven't "introduced" ourselves.

-Company started in 2009, by yours truly. Went full time in 2011. Purchased many other platforms before getting into Honda.
-Purchased a 10th gen Civic Si in 2017 (currently tuned on Hondata, has been tuned with KTuner)
-Got on CivicX forum in 2017
-Purchased a dyno in 2018 and transitioned a full time staff member that was tuning on the side to a full time in house tuner
-Have a YouTube channel with 3 Honda specific playlists with over 80 videos specifically dedicated to 10th gen Honda
-Specifically related to tuning - Did an entire video on how to use KTuner on a 1.5T/Si (pushing a platform)
-Purchased a 10th gen Type R in 2023 to continue our Honda involvement
-Will be attending Wake the Dragon in 2025

As you know, ALL 10th gen experience we have transfers to 11th gen.

The reason we're pushing Cobb is because we know what value they bring and it offers a larger opportunity for us. Hondata and KTuner is very heavily dominated by a few other tuners. So we're going to where the opportunity is so we have a better chance of sustainability and serving a greater amount of customers. Can you blame us? We'll tune Hondata and KTuner too if someone wants. For the record, both Hondata and KTuner haven't been much help to us. They've given us the runaround on some of the questions we've asked and they clearly play favorites. That's not something you'll experience with Cobb as a ProTuner. They are insanely supportive when we have issues or questions with devices, tuning, software, etc.

I think if you took the time to get to know us, you'd realize that we can be a valuable partner to a lot of people modifying their car.

There are other vendors on the forums and elsewhere bumping threads, pushing parts. We're not one of them. They don't have dozens of blogs and videos trying to help the community in exchange for being a place where they can buy their parts and get tuned. We're not the only one providing value, but we're not just some guys.

Hopefully, you can understand our case a little better.

I have a question for @EdgeAutosport, do you know if the Cobb ecu unlock is the same as the Hondata? Like if you have Cobb unlock your ECU to use an Accessport, can you later unmarry the Accessport and then just install a Flashpro?

Thanks!
They only need to unlock the ECU on the FL5/DE5. All others are able to be flashed on car, no other devices or purchases necessary.

Yes, you can uninstall and flash back to stock, even on unlocked cars. We've actually switched a Hondata car over to Cobb successfully without any weird stuff happening. It SHOULD work the same going the other way, I would assume. But Hondata might be a better place to ask for that.

You guys seem legit, I think a lot of fan boy stuff pops ups and people spout off. Hopefully the community embraces you and who knows maybe I will give you call, the Cobb ap is pretty nice when it comes to live monitoring and I have used it on wrx’s, Sti’s, and even an n54. Good luck now to the real stuff, tuning wise what are yall seeing that’s a big difference with the honda 2.0 vs other engines yall have tuned for?

I appreciate the support. And you know what, we'll tune you for free if you change your mind. Just let me know. I know, free tune, sounds scary. We're not just starting out. Alan has my Type R in Texas right not developing off the shelf maps that we want to offer for the Type R using Cobb. He's already tuned a bunch of Type R's over the past few years. He's not a dummy. We honestly just want some people to experience us and get our name out there.

The Honda is a straightforward platform to tune and doesn't have many obstacles in the way of making power. You can make it do what you want pretty easy. There aren't as many, "why is this happening?" moments. Alan would tell you the Ford is a more complex ECU with more layers of control.

He says it's basically the exact same ECU and tuning method on the DAZA Audi stuff and he has at least one 1000hp car under his belt in that platform, and multiple 700+ hp cars I believe. I'd have to ask him how many he's done. He does that on the side personally so I don't know as much about that. I think it's been a bit since he's had his hands on one.

Yeah, I watched all @EdgeAutosport stuff for the 1.5 Civic Si and it was really cool watching what mods changed what. Might bite the bullet and grab an AP and go with you guys since I liked how you guys tuned. Would be cool seeing you guys continue with Cobb on Honda since you guys have so much experience.

It works both ways, once OBD flashing is enabled on the ecu you can use any of the softwares/dongles to flash.

It does work the other way. I unmarried my Cobb and installed the FlashPro no problem.
