Yep. Lots of angry people, and I obviously don't care what people think. Apparently you have to own a car for a long long time to get to know it, and then once you sell it, you are no longer authorized to speak on it. Sorry guys, it's just a car, try not to assign your personality to it. It's funny that people are getting so bent out of shape over someone's opinion. OMFG you like a CRV?! Your opinion doesn't matter! Lol.You're getting a lot of flack, and I don't agree with everything you said, but I do agree that these newer Honda engines are a bit soulless. It's the one thing that has kept me from pulling the trigger. Had I never gotten the opportunity to test drive an FL5, I would almost certainly own one at this point. I know I'm living in the past, but the K series/F series engines were just really special, fun motors. The FL5 is a vastly superior car in many ways, but the engine characteristics/sounds really let me down. I'm hoping I get the opportunity at some point to drive an FL5 with some bolt-ons and a tune to see if that changes things for me.
Yep, I said it, CRV is cheaper, more usable to families, more worry free ownership experience, more back seat room, more cargo room, better fuel efficiency, cheaper to insure, quieter, and has AWD so it's not wheel hop central just driving around. For my dollar, I enjoy it a lot more than a front wheel drive super car. That makes it a better car, IN MY OPINION. Don't lose sleep on this guys.
Someone mentioned the reddit thread about the Camry owner. While I don't agree that a Camry is sportier than a Type R like that guy claimed, I kind of understand the point that was made. The FL5 is still an economy car, and gives an economy car experience. I personally think dissenting opinions are important in public discourse, because otherwise it's just a giant circle jerk of hype. FL5 is cool, it's not bad, it's just not this amazing car that everyone acts like it is.
