True, only thing is Sudbury is almost 4hrs from where I am..
For sure, but because of how rare they are, a lot of members got their cars away from highly populated areas. In my case as an example, I’m in the Toronto area but went a rural area outside of Montreal to get mine, and I had deposits in Toronto August 2022, none of which came through.

Makes sense, I'm waiting for someone to get back to me from the dealership so we'll see what happens. I'm also in the Toronto area :)

For the folks in Toronto, what's it like driving the car in the winter on Gardiner or 401? Trying to get a feel of how practical the car is in traffic during the winter.

Traffic doesn't get as bad in Calgary although Deerfoot is getting messy.

With proper winter tires should be no issue. Ive driven one winter, i have no complaints. Shouldn't it be easier to drive in traffic anyway? Id be more worried about winter in remote places where highways have snow on them, toronto cleans it up pretty quickly.

I haven't driven mine in the snow and won't be, but we don't get a whole lot of snow like we used to. I'd say the last 2-3 years we might get dumped on 2-3 times over the winter season. The city and surrounding municipalities keep the roads fairly clean. That said, I know a few people driving CTR and ITS and haven't had any issues with a good set of winter tires.

Ya worst is driving when its still lots of snow on the ground, car is pretty low. So wait for the snow to be cleared! Some days I wouldnt drive it in the winter, so its always good to have a second car handy

Driven mine many many times in snow, snowy mountain, pretty remote road/fresh pile of snow in the road with Michelin Alpin 5 OEM Wheels; I would say I didn’t had any problem! Your only concern would be the height of the snow.
I’ll be running the car all throughout winter with same spec of wheels + 25mm spacers + Eibach PRO Kit this time. Let’s see.

Unfortunately, after 2yrs+ waiting, my small market ON dealer decided they had no visibility on getting any allocation so returned my deposit. Since there are so many unfufilled orders with the larger market dealers I've given up hope on getting a new FL5 anytime soon. NowI have to get rid of these brand new Cartist 3 Pieces Floor Mat Set for 2024/2025 Honda Civic $60.00.....feel free to contact me if anyone is interested.

Bummer, sorry to hear. There's always the used market if you're still interested in getting one. May I ask which dealership you were working with?

hamburg honda in Niagara Falls. Chatham Honda was originally going to take my deposit but Hamburg took my deposit first. Chatham got a call from Honda saying that I was pre-book at Hamburg so couldn't take a second deposit. I guess Hamburg got tired of waiting as well......can't blame them as very few allocation has reached Canada. Honda made a too popular product??!!

I drove my Integra in the dead of winter from Vancouver to Vernon during a decent snowfall and the car never lost traction once. 215 50 r17 Michelin X-Ice. If this open diff rebadged civic can do it, then the Type R shouldn't have any issue apart from ground clearance.

They have to get you on something. As long as its useful or something you want, makes it a little easier.

I gave up and am going to get my deposit back, bought another vehicle.
Honda Canada really fked Canadians. There is yet another new Fl5 at Markham Honda selling for $67999. This is the 3rd one Ive seen them sell over the last several months at that price.
They clearly arent delivering to customers. It was especially frustrating given that south of our border they get more than 2x the number of FL5 per capita and in many states can be had under MSRP.
