I went with the HKS because it’s tube and fin and it’s HKS and not PRL. Does it really matter, probably not. I want to think I’m like many that tracks no more than 10 times a year. It is a street car for the 365 days since I still have to drive to the track. We are all just doing a little here and there to better the cooling issue this platform has.

It's the IC I had ordered, but they are still 6 months on backorder, did you get yours already?

My plan is to grab whatever lightly used IC comes up for sale in the next few months šŸ˜‚ And wait for everyone else to settle this debate once the new tube and fin models finally come out.

RV6 coming out soon but no hardpipes, If I'm fitting a new IC, I want to do the pipes at thew same time to keep labor costs down

You're pretty much guaranteed a good intercooler as long as you choose a reputable brand. It doesn't really matter that you chose HKS or PRL like you said. The inherent problem that we won't be able to escape, unless Acuity puts their intake out, is that air really shouldn't be travelling directly above the super hot turbo. The problerm is also exacerbated by the water line that is directly behind the turbo as well.

I emailed Aquity back in December about the status of their intake. I was told that they’re seeking CARB approval which is ā€œa lengthy processā€, in their words. They have no idea of when it will be released.

They should just sell it to NON-CARB states in the mean time.
