The Porsche people would disagree with you. This is a FWD GT3 after all
Hear that term often...what does that mean it is a FWD GT3? I have a GT3, and have been interested in the FL5 for some time. Found a nearby used FL5 that I will test drive again this weekend.

Of all the available hot hatches, it is the most clinical in its philosophy of track-focused performance. Other cars in the class make certain compromises to improve streetability. It is by far the stiffest car in its class, it's the only car in its class that makes actual downforce, only car in its class with a built-in data logger, only car in it's class that gets an optional Cup2 from the factory. Basically if GT3s were FWD instead of RWD, they would be Civic Type-Rs lol

And for a price that's nearly $200k less!

@AspecR - thanks for the explanation. Makes sense…my only hesitation is it being FWD. but I have heard the front differential does a great job making it irrelevant at normal street speeds.

THe only time it really makes it known that it's FWD is on a launch or if your car is making over 450whp.

The S stands for "stupid" because you paid 7k more for a car with less features :)
Yeah. Clearly Honda had no real intention of selling the S-grade. They just offer it to satisfy the N-Ring record qualifications. If they maybe sell a small few to the goofballs out there with more money than sense…well…OK🤣

Or autox on stock power in 40F temps! I didn’t even bother launching above idle that day lol.

Who knows lol no word about 2026 yet. Don’t they normally announce it by now?

I'm waiting till the summer to see if it's announced, seems like Honda may be just as unsure as we are lol

It's a bit early. Last year it was mentioned, not announced, in June as part of a Civic (not Type R specific) press release. I believe we have some more time before we'll know more.

I just think its so weird for them to do a press release of the HPD ITS Prototype, showcase it off at the Monterrey Car Show and then go radio silent.

Imo seeing that car become a "special edition" is more feasible than seeing a FL5 LE
