does the fl5 come with front plate mounts? if I understand correctly, if honda doesn't have a part number for OEM plate mounting then WA will grant an exemption to requiring front plates. something I didn't think about until now
well the dealer gave me front plate mounts, not sure if they're for the fl5 specifically. i don't see any where you could put front plates without drilling. i won't be running front plates regardless. if so, i wanna run fake ass japanese plates lol

uhh maybe. the dealer installed ceramic coating for 7 years, idk what the quality is. probably in the future, not the biggest priority to me. i mainly want to get the car tinted, but that's for the summer

Congrats, you had me at Orgasm :)

A bit worried that it's bouncy even in comfort mode, hope they have not made it like the FD2 which I'm sure was fine on Japanese roads but terrible elsewhere
It's likely the 265 tires - summer tires that wide tend to be a bit noisy and uncomfortable, and tramline. He's probably not used to it.

Any comments on the paint? I’m reading a lot about thin paint that is easily chipped. I know yours is new so probably hard to comment unless you have a paint meter but this is one thing I’m worried about if I do decide to move forward with the type r.

OP said he didn't see much orange peel which is nice. Every new car you buy will have thin paint, this isn't unique to Honda. OEMs use eco/water based paint which means that the paint is thin and fragile.

Its pretty much guaranteed to chip unless you get PPF. Imo you should at least get the front/high impact areas covered in PPF if you want to avoid damage

Do sneakers count if I put wheels on them?
Remember that people who care to post about paint issues are ones having paint issues. Paint on cars is inconsistent.

There are also people that report no issues with paint. So I feel as if there were production line issues for some cars. Remember civic is usually the best selling sedan so there are more people reporting issues.

Anyway, @mbaapk made a good point that paint process is different for the type R. On top of that, it's made in Japan so hopefully less issues.

Some people also mentioned that all their paint issues were within first couple of months. Which almost seems like a curing issue resultant of being delivered too fast after production. Hopefully with it coming from Japan, that's no longer and issue.

Most cars attract dudes because most women couldn't tell the difference between M3 or base 3 series, nor would they know/care that someone owns a Type R instead of a Civic.
