I have a suspicion that the FL5 springs will work just fine, and might even sit a hair lower than FK8 springs will. I'm talking like 2-4mm here.
I'm still very happy with the FK8 springs. All I did was pull the front camber pins before going and getting my car aligned. It for sure needs an...
The one thing I would try to refrain from doing is low RPM + high load. Low RPM + low load is usually fine, either downshift or bring the RPM up a bit before going full throttle. Low RPM and high load is a recipe for pre-detonation, use premium fuel if you insist on doing it.
@ValkenDnB do you have any pics of the part that bolts up to the front pipe? I'm possibly interested in purchasing one of these exhausts and was wondering if it was a true 3" pipe where it meets the front pipe. The Remark is 2.5" then expands to 3".
No, there is still preload on the spring once the top nut is seated completely. I was able to push the top hat down by hand to get the nut started without any compressors.
The Si ride is already pretty firm, the FK8 springs don't make that huge of a difference in ride quality, but it's definitely firmer. I can tell the car feels way more even though, stock the front felt much softer than the rear over bumps. 90% of people likely wouldn't feel the difference in my...
It keeps stock height. I bought a set of low mileage (500 miles) used OEM springs for $75 locally on FB marketplace. Once installed it took a few weeks for the springs to settle but they sat at stock ride height once broken in. The FK8 springs go right in without any issue, they are actually...
The cheap and easy option to up the front spring rate is a pair of OEM FK8 CTR front springs, which are 263 lb. springs. They really seem to balance the feel front to back and the stock shocks handle the rebound no problem. The increase in front spring rate definitely increases the roll...
From the description, this kit doesn't need the N1 damper delete. There is a new stainless line that goes from the new Wilwood master to the OEM slave.
I would check FB marketplace for a PRL HVDP, they are out there. I was able to snag a new one before they got discontinued, not one CEL since installing it almost 5k miles ago.
I think the first turbo upgrade should be the quicker spooling option vs. a lazier one. I like the idea of a 310-330whp, 300wtq capable turbo (on pump 93) that hits peak TQ around 700 rpm later than the OEM turbo. It should keep the OEM rods happy, there's no need for fuel system upgrade, and...
