They key to maintaining a good exhaust sound (and reasonable volume) with an upgraded downpipe is having a resonated exhaust. Thankfully in the FL5 market many exhausts are offered with a resonated or non-resonated option, which allows you to adjust accordingly for your downpipe, if one decides to go down that road. Non-resonated often suits the factory downpipe well but can sound horrendous with an upgraded downpipe.
How much louder is the TSP downpipe over the OEM downpipe with stock exhaust?

I’d say it is noticeable but pretty minimal. That combination is much more tame than any aftermarket catback would be with the factory downpipe.

11th Gen Honda Civic Who’s running a AWE touring exhaust on there FL5 ? IMG_0719

just wish I didn’t have my camera/phone in the car when it was on the lift. I wanted to take pictures so bad and was kicking myself for forgetting it in my car realizing it after it went up in the air . I’m not kidding it was like a piece of art so beautiful it’s really a shame it’s hidden under the car .

Id say you get one of the JDM exhaust as they are made for sound compliance. I have the AWE track and while it sounds nice it does drone. The Touring also sounds about the same to be honest. I might end up going back to stock.

Is there a way to remove the resonator like the TypeS and then get Pops/Bangs with Hondata? That might be the best route other than JDM.
Hi yes, there's three resonators you can remove and I've tried all three, sounds good and doesn't drone...I'm getting a track awe for almost nothing how bag is the drone? I've got an RV6 DP

Hey everyone, jumping in here. If anyone is currently having an issue with their system hit up our support team ASAP so we can get it squared away for you. I have done this install a few times and given that the pipes are so much larger than stock there is next to no room for error as far as the installation goes.

That being said, our support team also documents potential issues in addition to getting resolutions so we can get down to root cause.

If you are encountering anything out of the norm hit up our support team right this way, and I am also a PM away if you have questions, need install tips, or just need a person on the inside, I am happy to help.
Hello is it possible to cut and fit the mufflers from the stock exhaust onto the track exhaust to reduce drone?

AWE Touring has zero drone but all the deep tone characteristics of the track. Good news is you can grab just the touring exhaust portion if you don't like the tracks drone which will most certainly be exacerbated with the addition of a DP.

With all due respect, others disagree about the drone on the AWE Touring. The perception or tolerance of drone is different for different people. What's great for one person, might annoy another. Based on what I've read online, doubtful some people even know what drone is. It's discussed so often it's become this nebulous phenomenon. If you're sensitive to exhaust frequencies, your best bet is to hear it in person at a local meet or a 1:1. Getting a ride along will also be helpful. Zero chance I'd spend the money on an exhaust based on the account of randos on the Interweb.

I'm getting a track for a price I can't turn down, just don't wanna remove it after a few weeks cause it's unbearable

I removed my touring because the drone was unbearable and awe told me there was no drone and I obviously installed it incorrectly. i sent them interior videos of me driving at 4am on a dead road with both drone and no drone and they told me the videos were not good enough and any issues are install error.

On top of that, the exhaust looks poorly made and uses awful slip fits, which is 100% a cost saving measure for the manufacturer. It's funny too because they claim all issues are install error and that the slip fits must be installed perfectly for it to not have issues. If that is the case, use flanges so there is no guess work and I'd bet there will still be issues blamed on install error rather than taking ownership of a sub par product.

“Sounds” like you might want to take it off no pun intend 😆
Like mentioned you can always change out/add touring to it .But I don’t know there is some brutal reviews and yet some like it. I say if if it’s really cheap take a gamble and you could always have any issues corrected from a reputable exhaust shop “maybe”

Ya it's $500 cdn and the seller has a hoist and is willing to help install it...I guess worth taking a chance as I can sell it quickly if it doesn't work out... Right now I have a RV6 DP with the front small and far rear res removed, running the basic pop tune from Phearable... actually sounds decent

It’s bad enough that you can’t have a conversation and gets tiring on a long drive.

Don’t get me wrong the sound is beautiful when riding alone. I do have all kinds of vibrations at low rpms. I have heard a Touring with an added resonator and downpipe, it’s perfect IMO.

I have thought about adding a resonator and going the Touring swap but the touring is almost $1k after taxes shipping 😖.

For anyone undecided, I would just start with a touring and go from there. It’s cheaper to swap to Track if after d/p you’re still no satisfied. I mean at the end of the day you end up paying the same no matter what option you choose.
