Void Warranty

I just bought a Tomei exhaust used for a good price and was wondering if it will void my warranty if I was to install it.

I don't believe a dealer can void your warranty but they can deny a warranty claim if they find the aftermarket part caused the issue that you brought the vehicle in for.

Unless the exhaust causes a CEL which results in the engine choking to death, or something like that, it shouldn't keep dealers from voiding your warranty.

That's also the reason why something like a downpipe would void a warranty if it creates problems.

As a general rule - if this is a question you are asking yourself - it's probably a good idea to leave your car stock until the warranty is up.

Just to be safe I’ll just hold off installing it until my warranty expires

Just install it. The exhaust will not void your warranty. I would also suggest getting to know the Service Manger at your local dealership. Making "friends" can go a long way.

I’ve got an oil change coming up I’m just gonna ask the service manager then and her what he says about it

My fl5 is built and I get warentee work done. It depends on the dealership.
