Hello! Apologies for another post so soon. Just can't get this out of my head.

When my car arrived, it was sitting overnight in freezing temps. The following morning, the sales rep called to say it was in and would send pics.

I noticed in the pic of the dash that the car was on. RPMs at 1500. Outside temp was showing high 30s.

I'm certain the car was turned on and then shut off almost immediately. Since they check the mileage for paperwork.

Could this damage the engine? Could there have been cylinder wash down?

Given it's not broken in and rings are still seating.

I know it's ocd, but I really take care of my cars and keep them. But never purchased a new car in colder weather like that.

Any insight would greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would not give this a first or second thought. Cars get moved under power at the factory and on/offloading the shipping trucks, PDI, etc. these are all brief runs. Break in the engine and move on. These motors are super reliable. Don’t stress over the small stuff it will take the joy away.

I also wouldn't worry about it. Lots of these cars were sold over the winter in freezing temps, lots of them were started in freezing weather to get on/off trucks for transport and revved a little bit to get on/off trucks.

OCD sucks, doesn’t it!? I'm currently obsessing about when to take my car out of storage. I'm hankering for a drive, but my area keeps getting mini snow storms and they keep salting the roads.

As for your query, I definitely would not worry about it. I’m sure no damage was done, and it would be impossible to control such things.

This is street car, not something with a track-only engine that you need to pump hot to start. It's fine. Most people do not know you can check Odometer Mileage by Key On without running the engine.

Cold Start idle is 1500rpm or car is turned off after a certain duration (like going for lunch).

I hear you guys đź‘Ť Thanks for all the replies and understanding :) this is a great forum!

Knowing the car was turned on and off within 30 seconds in freezing temps, just didn't sit well with me. Who knows how many times that was done in transit. I need to chill out sometimes and just enjoy things LOL.

@madbikes you're absolutly right, most don't know how you check mileage without turning the car on! When I was looking over the car, I showed the sales rep how. Just pressed the start button twice without the clutch. Hit the scroll wheel on the right and that's it lol.

Our FL5 has over 250 dyno pulls under its belt and makes double the factory output on the stock engine internals and factory clutch. We don’t intentionally abuse the car but are not “super careful” with it either. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. :p

OCD sucks, but CDO, which is what I have, is worse.
