I have a 23 FL5 with 15k miles. Has Hondata base 93 octane tune on it.
I have been having an issue where the check engine light comes on every once an a while when I start it after the car has been sitting for a while.
Always has codes for misfires on cylinders 2 and 3. Car feels like it misifres for a second after starting then smoothes out.
A few months ago I washed my engine and got water in the spark plug tubes and had to replace all spark plugs and two coils.
Before I take it to Honda for a warranty claim, I want to make sure this problem I'm having now is not something I caused like last time.
I swapped the coils from cylinders 2 and 3 to cylinders 1 and 4 about a week ago. This morning CEL came on, codes for misifre cylinders 2 and 3 so
now I can rule out the coils that I was affraid may have had some lingering issues due to my water issue.
Next I'm going to do the same with the plugs and see if the misfire jumps to the cylinders I move them to.
One of my techs at work (Maserati not Honda lol) thinks it may be my fuel injectors leaking when the car is off.
Has anyone else had an issue like this?
A tech I know at Acura said they had to replace injectors on a Type S Integra for the same thing.
