I have a 23 FL5 with 15k miles. Has Hondata base 93 octane tune on it.
I have been having an issue where the check engine light comes on every once an a while when I start it after the car has been sitting for a while.
Always has codes for misfires on cylinders 2 and 3. Car feels like it misifres for a second after starting then smoothes out.

A few months ago I washed my engine and got water in the spark plug tubes and had to replace all spark plugs and two coils.

Before I take it to Honda for a warranty claim, I want to make sure this problem I'm having now is not something I caused like last time.

I swapped the coils from cylinders 2 and 3 to cylinders 1 and 4 about a week ago. This morning CEL came on, codes for misifre cylinders 2 and 3 so
now I can rule out the coils that I was affraid may have had some lingering issues due to my water issue.

Next I'm going to do the same with the plugs and see if the misfire jumps to the cylinders I move them to.

One of my techs at work (Maserati not Honda lol) thinks it may be my fuel injectors leaking when the car is off.

Has anyone else had an issue like this?

A tech I know at Acura said they had to replace injectors on a Type S Integra for the same thing.

Leaky injectors was definitely a thing for early 1.5s, but I don't know about the 2.0s. But if they are leaking, you'd see problems with oil dilution. I hate to bring this up, but to might want to check your coolant level if the swapping the plugs does nothing.

thanks for the input. Checked coolant level looked good.
twice Now when I start it, it misfires badly , ck engine light flashes. If I turn off and immediately restart misfire goes away. Then runs fine for 3-4 key cycles then, acts up again.
ā€˜as much as I hate to take it to the dealer , guess Iā€™ll bring it in this week and have them look at it.
i app the input from everyone here.šŸ‘

Since you are under warranty that's the best course of action.

If you weren't the next step would be to put a camera in the cylinders to check for the leaky injectors.

When you had to replace the 2 ignition coils, which ones did you replace? Did you have a similar problem when the coils were replaced? If it was # 2 and 3, I wonder if thereā€™s a corrosion problem at the wire connector to those coils?

Yeah not to be that ā€œguyā€ but they may not warranty any of the work with a tuned ecu. Most dealers will perform an ecu scan to see the codes and either flag the car as tuned and or deny any work as Honda may not reimburse for warranty work on a modified engine.

Again I appreciate all the input1

The dealer Iā€™m taking to is full of former coworkers of mine, the shop foreman, service manager and advisor, are all friends. So I have that on my side. Unless their hands are tied by Honda I should be ok.
So I donā€™t waste their time and potentially incur a charge, I want to check everything I can to be sure my problem is a legit warranty issue.

I may put my borescope in the cylinder to check for leaky injectors.

great idea checking for corrosion at the coils! Iā€™ll check that too.

update
check engine light has been off for the past two weeks.
came on again yesterday, with a code for a misfire on cylinder 4.
I noticed when this happened I get other non related indicators/ messages too, like abs, blind spot, adaptive cruise etc.
im going to test/check the battery. Wondering if the voltage is dropping too low at startup?

I did, when it was misfiring on cylinders 2 and 3 I swapped the plugs to 1 & 4. Misfires stayed on cylinders 2 and 3. Now two weeks later getting a misfire on in 4.
