Hello peeps ,,happy to note that I just received a 2025 Type R … now has all of 300 miles on it. Just love it. I have bought German ( including a few GTIs) for the past 37 years but have been following this hot hatch field develop for a few years. Not at all disappointed. It’s a beast.. in my spare time I race a Porsche 1974 911 RSR…So I am well aware of performance and handlingand the value of balance. There is simply no turbo lag on the R. It’s amazing. Plus the front wheel drive is a whole new feeling.. unbelievable . Especially when my experience with the porsche is 450 lbs of iron hanging behind the rear axle. Ready to bite you with snap over steer if you make a slight mistake. I am surprised at how muted the stocke exhaust note is on the R even at most aggressive setting. But that will eventually be solved …. It’s great to see the comparative tries of various exhaust components on this forum…. Extremely helpful.. btw. Name is frank , not gene ; I do cancer genetics for a living. Look forward to participating in this forum.

You have enough time to break it in and join us for the first annual type R HPDE at VIR in end of May.

josh. do you sell after market performance parts for the 2025 R? I WOULD LIKE A PROPer set of wheel spacers for front and rear... I saw some YouTube claiming that 15mm and about 21 are about right. what do you think? (i use hubcentri spacers all the time oN my 911 RSR.. depending on offset of wheels etc). the second thing I need is lowering spring F & R. HRC? let me know what you recommend sell. thanks for the introduction... of course. the car is not yet a week old and I am looking to modify... ITS A DISEASE I TELL YOU!!!

Yes we do, either through PRL motorsports or H&R. that is a popular combo.

I'm new myself and first post. Congrats on the car! Anymore about how you like it? I haven't gotten the type R yet. I have one that my dealer bought at auction from a used dealer up in Mass. Has under 1000 miles on it. If all is good with it, ill be trading a 2017 gt350R for it. I would like a more practical car to get around with. I don't drive the 350R much. It has low miles. It's a super fun car to drive though and the exhaust note at 7000RPM is like the house is coming down. Love it! I am already regretting it but id like to put 200K miles on a type R vs driving a 350R for 50 miles a weekend. The exhaust note will probably be a huge difference for me :( I'll probably have to do something that let's me know there is an engine in there.
The 350R base model is fast and corners perfectly with the magnetic dampers. It's like it's on rails. Still... I opt for useability at 55YO. Id like to throw some fishing poles in and go to the lake.
My biggest fear is, that some kid bought the CTR and didn't know how to shift and ground the gears down and took a good chunk of life off the car in 900 miles with beating it to death. Wondering why someone would put 900 miles on a car before selling. Maybe it just didn't check the boxes for them. IDK. My dealer claims that all checked out OK, but I'll double check once he gives me a vin#.
