Interior plastic trim on door window... what is this?

It's present on the front two doors of my Civic and all four doors on my wife's '25 CR-V. The ones on the front doors look temporary, but the ones on my wife's rear doors look more permanent due to the trim molding around them.

When you have the door open .. look to the car.. youll see that it matches up to the frame... I would say its a seal.. but I dont think it is but a transition piece from door to frame
