I'm torn between this two springs. Have not seen any reviews on the H&R FL5 specific springs. Wondering if anyone is running this springs that can chime in on ride quality for the H&R or compare them to the spoons. Thanks!

Don’t have experience with either. In general the stiffer spring rate will be less comfortable on the street and better for the track.

I have installed all 3 springs on 2 different FL5’s
All springs sat at the following heights ( fender to ground )
FK8 H&R on FL5
Front 25.5”
Rear 25.5”
FL5 H&R on FL5
Front 25.4”
Rear 25.7”
FL5 Spoon Springs
Front 25.5”
Rear 25.3”
I have the Used the FK8 H&R springs initially on my car for 4000 miles and they ride really well I just put the FL5 H&R springs on last week and the ride is identical to the FK8 version.
Now the Spoon springs I don’t have on my personal car but my friends and they also ride very similar to the H&R FK8 spring just feels like the front is a tad bit firmer.

I will have a post up in a few days toto go in a bit more detail on the H&R springs and the differences between the FK8 and FL5 versions :coffee:

While I discourage springs generally, Swift are some of the best quality in the business. Doesn't mean they will work well in an application or anything but theirs test very well (ie, they are what they say they are).

I'm currently on Spoon's and very satisfied with the ride. I've got both bump stops cut down 10mm as per the instructions. Only thing about the Spoon's is that they sit lower at the back so I've got that corrected by designing my own spacers that sit on top of the rear spring (between the rubber insulator and the body).
Perform very well on track.
Check my build thread for more info on the spacers.

I know the reverse rake has been discussed many times, but I saw a recent video where Jomoto-san claims that's not the case. He said it only appears that way because the way the fender arch is positioned. I have no firsthand experience with the Spoon springs, but thought that was an interesting statement. Here's the video, see the 4:05 mark.

I see the H&R's drop .75" front and .60" rear, maybe to compensate for that visual reverse rake,:dunno:

Yes, this is their explanation - but anyone who has Spoon springs fitted to the FL5 agree their car sits low in the rear. Measured to be 10mm lower at the wheel arch with a full tank of fuel.

This helps visualize things. The rear arch is simply lower.

Nice! I went with the eibach springs since the rears are about 0.3 inches higher in the rear compared to the front and it makes it seem to have less rake.

I believe Eibach has not released their FL5 specific springs, only for FK8.

Yes correct these are for FK8 and 2022 si. Its just a test that I’m doing for track purpose. I will be going with full coils eventually. So far they feel good and no issues. The FK8 version actually has a higher spring rate than the FL5 version on the pro kit.
