Dash cam install - are the fuses mini fuses?

So I dont have one yet but will soon - I want to have my dash cam stuff ready to install (thinkware u1000) - I have had it for almost 3 years in my fk8.

Im putting together a hardwire kit - are they mini fuses? If not, what kind are they?

I just installed a dash cam using this adapter. Super easy install and very clean appearance. I will say I was a bit anxious with the force needed to remove the overhead light console. It's just pressure clips, but man I felt like it could snap. Rest assured it didn't and re installed in a breeze.

@Udalay what exact car did you use the FitDVR in? I'm considering the FitDVR option for a 2023 civic si (so no autodimming mirror). Wondering if you could maybe share a few pictures of your installation. I am also wondering, does the dashcam switch off automatically, or is there some kind of parking mode?

@leon I used this in my 2024 Civic Type R. The most important thing is knowing the pin count for the adapter. I'm not positive but I think the 23 SI is also an 8pin.

The FiTDVR is powered from the overhead console, so basically any time the overhead lights are on or the vehicle is on/acc - power is supplied and the dash cam turns on. I think this may dependent on how your dash cam functions as well.

The dash cam I have does include parking mode, but the power supply source(over head console) is not a constant power source (when the vehicle is off and lights turn off, the power source is also terminated. There are work around out there for this issue, but I have not explored as the parking mode is not something that I need.
