Hi guys. Just picked up an Si on Tuesday for my first brand new car. Drove a beater before that for 10 years.

just noticed yesterday when I was driving to the tint shop that the steering wheel is slightly off center to the left a couple degrees. Car drives straight and doesn’t pull though.

does this happen to new cars often? I have OCD about this type of stuff but if it’s within spec I won’t take it to the dealer. My tints are fresh too and I don’t wanna deal with the dealer rolling them down or even doing a complimentary “wash” on new paint

It happens. Just head to the dealership for an alignment under warranty. A warranty alignment will fall under the manufacturers adjustment period, which is 12 mos or 12k miles, whichever comes first. You can wait the 2-3 days for the tint to cure so that you don't have to worry about them rolling the window down, and just let them know that you don't want a car wash.

Road crown may change the centering. If it's always off despite the road surface, make an alignment appointment at the dealer as soon as possible and schedule it a few days out.

Steering wheel slightly off-center is not entirely unusual, and does not always mean alignment is off. Your pictures does not appear to be a problem.

Some roads have more road crown than the others (center of the road will always be slightly higher than the sides), so water can have slightly easier time slide off the road when it rains.

I wouldn't worry about it unless your tires are wearing unusually fast. You can, however, take it back to the dealer and ask them to re-center the steering wheel with an alignment.
