ACT has just recently confirmed fitment of the current Type R clutches for FK8 to be compatible with the FL5 and the DE5. Not exactly a surprise. But sometimes you assume stuff like that would work and there are small differences that make them incompatible. If you are considering an ACT clutch, it will fit all FK8, FL5, and DE5. I'll put a link below. They offer full kits only, including the flywheel. You can get each individual component if all you need is a new disc and/or pressure plate one day. They have a full face organic and 6 puck ceramic style disc available, in both sprung and solid configurations.
So far, the OEM part numbers are different so it was worth mentioning in case anyone is looking for a replacement clutch other than OEM. I'm sure some of you have already roasted one....
We've always had good luck with ACT clutches. They are a very supportive company for the end user and always have a significantly lower rate of problems than some other clutch companies we've sold throughout the years. We currently use one in our 10th Gen Si.
I haven't had my hands on a OEM clutch, or any FL5 clutch for that matter. If I did, it might be easier to notice the differences. Just figured I'd post up to help anyone seeking this info.
