This is great information to know and loving seeing testing that simulates real world not just hero runs. I’ve been on the fence with engine mods a tune But I might just have to get the handata

My biggest hold up is I drive to the track. Then proceed to drive the doors off then drive back home. I’ve seen lots of people on the forums here have problem with heat and there tunes

I have Hondata and it’s tuned. It gets hot for sure but haven’t had issues yet.

We took our FL5 to the dyno and tested some basic bolt-ons and compared each to stock.

Thanks for the data, Doug from Hondata! I was looking into buying an intercooler, but your findings are giving me second thoughts. When would you recommend an aftermarket intercooler compared to an OEM one?

An intercooler will cool the air more and probably deliver better performance than our test, because on-road, you pass a lot more air through the intercooler. The downside is a possible reduction in throttle response.

So, when would be when you are making more boost because of the Hondata reflash, and after you have an intake that injects more air.
